Wendigos!

Braydon and Belinda talk about all things Wendigos! Wendigos are Native American folklore spirits… or are they? The team go over the history of these lanky, tall and unattractive creatures that are Braydon’s all time favourite supernatural beings. Wendigos are said to imitate noises and voices to lure its victims to their doom. Belinda does her best to remember a story about wendigos that she heard of, or read no someone told her, wait no – she read it on some internet source at one point, like ages ago. The stories don’t just stop with that amazing one but also a few supposedly true stories from Reddit. A man whose dog just won’t stop barking at something outside in the woods around his beautiful big home that he just moved to with his family that has amazing views. He hears his wife’s voice calling to him in the woods but can see her silhouette in the window of his big beautiful home that has all these amazing views. Then a story of childhood games in the dark mountains on family holidays. Who just lets their children play hide and seek in the dark woods in the first place?

Haunted Objects!

In this episode Braydon and Belinda speak about ten – count them – TEN haunted objects. The Dybbuk Box, yes possibly the same one Post Malone touched that one time and ran away. A set of bunkbeds haunted by a witch that causes hallucinations of fiery death rooms. One of the worlds most creepy and haunted paintings, The Anguished Man. Not just the Belcourt Castle and its many haunted objects inside but the chairs in particular. A killer silver vase known as the Bassano Vase. A hauntingly sad tale of a broken-hearted lady and her wedding dress that she never had the chance to wear to her wedding.  Annabelle isn’t the only haunted doll out there, but there is many including a felted doll in a little sailor’s outfit that doesn’t like it when you take photos without asking. A statue that will cause death upon those who touch it, The Woman from Lemb Statue. Another doll (because spirits just love to possess creepy dolls), The Letta-Me-Out Doll a marionette owned by Kerry Walton from their hometown of Brisbane, Queensland!

Braydon tops it off as he tells a story that happened in his actual childhood home. His parents took a little holiday overseas but what they brought back Braydon had the unfortunate pleasure of encountering. A picture of a little girl, who would have thought it could cause such mayhem. From stealing phones to flipping tables, listen to Belinda get chills as Braydon recalls the story.

Behind The Exorcist

To kick off the very first episode of this podcast Braydon and Belinda discuss the interesting, creepy and very true story of The Exorcism of Roland Doe. In the mid-1940s a 14-year-old boy was alleged to be a victim of demonic possession and was put through four exorcisms. The exorcisms being witnessed by many Jesuits and Priests. Roland had scratches and carvings appear on his body after each exorcism, while also speaking in a guttural voice. Not only this but strange things happened only when he was around. Though the priests concluded that the last exorcism had worked, and the demonic spirits were expelled from his body, some sceptics believed that this behaviour was the result of mental illness or sexual abuse. Some believe just childish behaviour. What side will you sway to – demonic possession or seeking attention?

This exorcism inspired the infamous 1971 novel and 1973 horror movie “The Exorcist”. Belinda recalls true facts about the supernatural happenings during the making of the film such as sets burning down and malfunctioning rigs. Also talking of an incredible amount of deaths during filming, two of which happened before the movie was even released. It gets creepier with tales of the movie itself being cursed!

Braydon discusses the demon that conjures up all this madness, ‘Pazuzu’. A demonic entity that causes great illness to the point of death. Was this funny sounding demon the cause of all the strange occurrences in the movie? Was it the entity inside Roland Doe?
